Volume 29
Pink and Link
The twins from the Medicinal plants village are among my personal favourites, not only because they simply look terrific when they fight, but also because their manner of speaking is extremely funny. Just like Shampoo, they do not speak japanese very well, actually even worse than Shampoo does. They also seem to add "Douzo" at the end of every sentence ("douzo" means something along the lines of "please", "help yourself", etc), which gives some funny lines like "Aiyah douzo!" and "Hii, douzo!" (which would be pretty much the same as if you went "Eek, please!" all the time). The Medicinal plants village twins are not to be confused with Lin-lin and Lung-lung from the anime, since the former utterly hate Shampoo. Why? Because when Shampoo was a kid, Pink blew some poison on her that knocked her out and when Link came to help, quite obviously, Shampoo thought it was the same girl and clobbered her. After that, whenever Shampoo met either of the twins she would, as she put it, "smack her a hundred times".
Here is the way to tell them apart: Pink, the 'evil' one, has the "Doku" (poison) kanji on her chest and Link, the 'good' one, has the "Yaku" (medicine) symbol. For those of you kanji-impaired, Pink is (oddly) the one who is always smiling and Link is always frowning. ^.^
